About Us
Our Mission - Our Vision - Our Values - In Our Communities

Our Mission
TelecomPioneers is a network of current and former telecom industry employees and their families who volunteer to address community needs.  We represented our companies' and the industry's commitment to responsible corporate citizenship.  New Outlook pioneers now carry on without corporate sponsorship.

Our Vision
We are the recognized world-class leader in volunteerism.  We are respected and valued by our members, our corporations, the global community and the telecom industry.  We are committed to the diversity and personal growth of our members, the success of our companies and to improving the quality of life in our communities.

Our Values

Inclusive
TelecomPioneers is a diverse organization, which values differences and demonstrates respect for human dignity. We recognize that people with different backgrounds, age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, skills, beliefs, attitudes and experiences bring fresh ideas and perceptions. We encourage and harness these differences to make our services to our members, sponsors and communities relevant and approachable. We attempt to draw upon the widest possible range of views and experiences, so that we can listen to, and meet, the changing needs of our stakeholders.

Relevant
The community service work of Pioneers is relevant to meeting the needs of our communities, our members and their families, our sponsors and our community partners. Pioneers share fellowship experiences and enhance our quality of life. We also offer today’s employees opportunities to lead and to participate as team members with fellow employees. We succeed by making every project an opportunity for fellowship and fun. We serve our countries as leaders in volunteerism.

Compassionate
TelecomPioneers are sensitive, thoughtful and helpful people who show compassion by providing fellowship, being responsive to our members, and by responding with understanding to critical needs in our communities.

Trustworthy
TelecomPioneers are a dependable and reliable volunteer force that operates with the highest level of integrity. We can be depended upon by our communities to respond to critical needs.

Excellence
As leaders in volunteerism, the TelecomPioneers strive for excellence in all our community activities and relationships. We are passionate about creating effective, quality volunteer projects that are organized to support community needs. We achieve excellence through partnerships with our sponsors, other organizations, and our members. TelecomPioneers are not only people who care but are also people who make a difference.

Open Communication
We are a member-driven organization that listens to and responds to the needs of our members, communities and sponsors. We strive to have communications that reflect the mission and values of the organization. We share ideas, best practices, and information with each other.

Financially Responsible
We rely on revenues from various sources to enable us to meet the needs of others. We manage the financial affairs of the organization to maximize the value of every dollar while adhering to the highest standards of financial accountability and integrity.

In Our Communities

Project: Connect

Play, learn and succeed with Project:Connect, the game-based learning system where fun and serious understanding go hand in hand! Project:Connect features a series of interactive games that span the curriculum in grades 4-7. Each features free classroom-ready internet access.

PIONEER FOCUS ON EDUCATION

The Pioneer focus on education was created in 1994 to channel the  membership energies, talents and commitment to the community in  support of our school systems. Within the past few years a unique personalized (ABAM) reader was designed to build self-confidence and  improve reading skills in the children ages 4 - 7.  On distribution day the Pioneers join with the students to help read the personal story to them.

PLAYGROUND MAPS

The playground maps are painted by Pioneers on playground asphalt or concrete and the brightly colored, 20 by 30 maps are are hard to miss.  The program now includes a teaching aid containing games the children can play using the maps to learn geography through game and challenges.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT

Junior Achievement programs are recognized by educators for their success in bringing outside business perspectives and roles into the classroom.  In the past year the New Frontier Volunteers conducted hundreds of Junior Achievement classes through the New Frontier chapter.

PIONEER HOT TRIKE

For any youngster, there's nothing quite like the breeze-in-the- face freedom of cruising down the sidewalk under his or hers own power.  And there really isn't anything quite like a Pioneer HOT Trike.  The trike works best for children between the ages of 3 to 10.
