Sibyl Myers

Sibyl was a contributor to the Omaha World Herald with her column The Back Yard.
Durning the past few years she had become acquainted with Jerry Golmanavich, Heartland Council President at the time and told the Omaha Community about many of our projects.  Jerry had a few comments that he wanted to share with us about Sibyl.

I was shocked by the news that Sibyl Myers had died. She was certainly a unique person and could usually be found among community organizations and neighborhood groups that gathered to promote and improve the Omaha lifestyle.

Over the last several years she has listened to news of completed projects from various activity groups within the Heartland Council of TelecomPioneers and saw her way clear to let Omaha know about the good works being done.

Among her legacies will be the Dreamland Project that is just gathering momentum and deserves continuation. Who will provide what's needed to bring this project to completion? Who will reach out to neighborhoods to find noteworthy activities that people should know about?

I will miss her because of her smile and her willingness to listen as well as her wisdom in helping to focus groups on what's really important within our communities.

When the Hug-A-Bears group in 2004  received a plaque for their community service work from the Omaha police department Sibyl was there to record the event for her column "The Back Yard" published in the Omaha World Hearld.
