The TelecomPioneers continuing their focus on Education has launched a new reading program for building essential literacy skills designed by CAST, an international leader in educational research and development and the pioneer of Universal Design for Learning.

Power up to read is an engaging, multicultural and multimedia program for 4th and 5th grade students that builds literacy skill and engages students in reading for understanding using folktales and informational text.  One of the  foundations for Power Up to Read, is a framework forteaching and learning that provides multiple pathways so that each student can gain knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm for learning.  The application of UDL enables tutors to provide the right amount of support and challenge so that every student can succeed.  Students will improve reading comprehension, build enthusiasm for reading, and develop essential technology skills.
