Participation Hours for 2011 thru SEPTEMBER:
Our volunteers helped for 29,706 hours.
The break out hours are thus:
1. Hug-A-Bears = 9,495 hrs;
2. Driving for the Blind = 268 hrs;
3. Hooks and Needles = 15,650 hrs;
4. Misc. Community Service = 2,861 hrs;
6. Brush-up Nebraska = 300;
5. Other General Activates = 1,132

Completed projects since last luncheon.
On Saturday August 20th 22 volunteers brushed=up a house at 6319 N.36th Ave.: Two Regular members, 12 life members, and eight others. It was a two story house so sides are high. We painted it light gray with white trim. We also replaced shutters did yard work, mulch work and flower beds. With all that we finished after eight hours on Saturday with more hours during the week..
Upcoming Events for the rest of 2011:
1. On Wednesday evening the Turkey Feast starts by filling sacks with bread, butter, cookies, and plastic wear at the Salvation Army. On Thursday morning the meal is cooked and delivered to families that have request meals. Please contact Deb Grady @ 402 33-2557 if you would like to help with this project.
2. Last Life-Member-Luncheon (LML) is Thursday December 1st with a food drive for the Salvation Army. Reservations are due November 23rd and you can find the form at www.heartlandpioneers.com
3. I would like to have four others beside my wife and I do Adopt-A-Family paper work on Friday the 2nd of December at the Salvation Army from 8:00 a. m. till noon.
4. Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army will be Saturday’s the 3rd, 10th,and 17th of December at Sam‘s Club as in the past. Two hour shifts from 10:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m.
5. During the middle of November I will contact last year helpers for Adopt A Family and Bell Ringing --- hopefully you all will help again this year
6. Each Tuesday we stuff bears at the Maple Ridge Adult Living Center located at 168th and Maple. Please contact Marcy Dawkins @ 402 445-0715 if interested in helping.
6. Each Third Saturday of the month the Hooks and Needles meet at the Ralston Library. Please contact Jean Belmudez @ 402 733-3926 or Elaine Hobbs @ 712 322-1447 if interested in helping with project.
7. You all come help with some of our great projects. They are not difficult and we try to have some fun each time.
