Pioneer Project for Romania

The Bikes for Romania Project  was started in 2009 and took until August 21, of 2011 to fill the first semi load of goods.  This project was intended to provide assistance to some of the poorest people in all of Eastern Europe who had suffered terribly under communism.  We gathered 21,000 pounds of clothing and 146 bicycles for these people.  The Omaha Council’s assistance was vitally needed in order for this project to succeed.  Darwin Fager provided valuable assistance by reconditioning over 40 bikes and Bob Wolkins, (Project Chairman) reconditioned the balance of the bikes.  Without the assistance and financial support of the Council, these bikes and clothing would not have been shipped.

When the Power Point Presentation opens you may view it by clicking on the movie screen right above the words Animate or the screen at the bottom beside the % sign.  Both of these will make the Presentation run automatically.  If you would rather view the pictures one at a time just click on the picture with the number one beside it and view them one at a time.  This is a large file and will take about a one minute to load and the slideshow is about 5 minutes long.  Thank you!
