ALLEN-Glenda Jean, (Cuhel),
age 64, died 12-12-05 surrounded by her family.
She was born 9-5-41 in Genoa, NE. She is the daughter of Art Cuhel and
Dora Cuhel-Fowler, Omaha. She graduated from Ralston High School in 1959,
and attended Doane College. Glenda married Edward E. Allen, Jr. in 1976. She
retired from Western Electric after 25 years and shortly after moved to Sun
Lakes, AZ and became known as the Mayor of Nacoma Street, where she enjoyed
the sun, her pool, and many friends. Her gift was loving people,
entertaining people in her home, where her door was always open, and where
she was delighted to set another place for more guests at her table! She was
a devoted mother, daughter, and grandmother. Her love was unconditional and
serves as an example to many. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren,
Summer, Ryan, and Justin. Glenda is survived by her husband, Edward Allen,
of Sun Lakes, AZ; her mother, Dora Cuhel-Fowler, of Omaha; her two
daughters; Shawnalee Neitzel, of Papillion, NE, Colleen Brobisky of Willard,
MO; seven
grandchildren, Summer Murphy and her husband, Mike of Ralston, NE, Ryan
Neitzel, of Springfield, NE, Justin Becker of Willard, MO, Jennifer and
Angela Allen, of Omaha, Stephanie and Jerry Allen, Jr. of AZ; two
great-granddaughters, Kaitlin Rose and Gracie Renee Murphy of Ralston, NE.
She will be missed dearly.

ULFERS—Ardyth (Ford), age 89 years, Omaha. Born on August 22, 1915,
she was raised in the heart of South Omaha where she attended school at
St. Agnes and later attended Mount St. Mary's. On Good Friday, at the age
of three, she saved her brother Jack and one of his friends from drowning
in a flooded hole by pulling each of them out by their hair.
She began working for the Bell Telephone Company in 1941. In 1944, she
enlisted in the Navy where she served as a lifeguard. As a Navy WAVE, she
saved three military nurses from drowning, and swam in several ten-mile
marathons. Ardythe continued her career at the Bell Telephone Company, and
later transferred to Western Electric when it opened. She was one of the
first women to be employed at the Omaha Works. She retired in 1973 after
serving a total of 35 years with the telephone companies.
Ardythe was a parishioner of Holy Name, St. James, and St. Elizabeth Seton
churches where she was often referred to as "the hat lady." Ardythe died
at the age of 89 on Valentine's Day at Victoria Gardens in Bellevue, NE,
after suffering from pneumonia and Alzheimer's disease. Loving family
members, amazing staff members, and wonderful caregivers surrounded and
supported her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth (Phillips)
Ford; brother, Jack; and beloved husband, Durward "Dude" Ulfers. Surviving
family members include: daughter, Cyndi Gade Stastny and husband, Larry;
special stepson, Rod Ulfers and wife, Jean; granddaughters: Angel Podraza,
Danielle Koory and husband Micky, Andi Ulfers, Stacie Denning and husband
Ted; great-grandchildren: Tyler and Jakob Koory, Zach, Josh, Sara and
Michael Denning, Durward and Bev Ulfers.
